Gove (Nhulunbuy) is the largest town in Arnhem Land in Australia’s Northern Territories. It was built in the 1970s to service the bauxite ore mine.
At the Gove Boat Club, there is a large parking area available, a sealed dual lane boat ramp and a small jetty.

Information for visiting sailors
Granted to all visiting yachts. $10 per person per week. An access card deposit of $20 is required. This will be fully refunded on return. The ablution block has showers, toilets, and coin operated washing machines and dryers.

There is a daily bus service departing from the Club. The schedule changes seasonally and is updated on the YBE website.
The cost is $10 per person per trip. This is operated by YBE, which can be contacted directly at 8987 0900.
Taxis are available and cost around $35 each way. Gove Taxi can be contacted at 131 008.
Information for visiting campers
The Central Arnhem Rd turn off is situated 50km south of Katherine on the Stuart Highway. The distance is 710 km between Katherine & Nhulunbuy through Central Arnhem Land. There are two fuel stops. The first one is 240 km from Katherine at Mainoru Outback Store (500 km South of Gove/Nhulunbuy). There is also a fuel stop at Bulman (420 km South of Gove/Nhulunbuy). Hours of operation are subject to change and you should check with the Katherine Visitor Center to confirm before your drive.
